Our Commitment to Privacy
At Contenity, we believe in keeping things simple and transparent. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being clear about what data we collect and how we use it.
Information We Store
We store minimal information to provide our service:
- Login Credentials: Your email address and securely hashed password to enable account access
- Content You Save: Social media posts, images, and metadata you choose to save through our service
- API Keys: Authentication tokens you generate for the Chrome extension
That's it. We don't collect browsing data, tracking pixels, analytics beyond basic usage metrics, or personal information beyond what's necessary for the service to function.
Chrome Extension Permissions
Our Chrome extension requests specific permissions to function properly. Here's exactly what each permission does:
Host Permissions (Social Media Sites)

- x.com & twitter.com: Access tweet content, author handles, and interaction data
- reddit.com: Read post titles, content, author names, and community information
- instagram.com: Extract public post content, captions, and engagement data
- tiktok.com: Access video metadata, descriptions, and creator information
- app.contenity.com: Communicate with our secure API to save your selected content
Chrome Permissions
- activeTab: Only interact with the currently active tab when you explicitly use the extension
- storage: Store your API key securely in Chrome's local storage (never shared or transmitted)
Important: We only access content from posts you explicitly choose to save. We don't monitor your browsing, read private messages, or collect data from posts you don't save.
